SDANW 2024 Rummage Sale

This past fall, Cyndi Olson urged SDANW members to piggyback on this year’s Kingswood Rummage Sales. The Kingswood sales are the largest organized rummage sales in South Dakota. Sale dates this year are Weds. May 1 through Sat. May 4.

SDANW Board Member Gayleen Riedemann graciously offered to host the sale at her home, 6805 W. Strabane Trail.

Here’s how you can help

  • Clean out those closets. Box up your treasures. Prepare to deliver them and a folding table if you have one to Gayleen’s home on Tues., Apr. 30 no earlier than 3:00 PM.

  • Buyers will need bags to haul their purchases home. Save up plastic and paper sacks. Tuck a supply in with your donations.

  • Volunteer to work a four-and-a-half-hour shift on one or more of the sale dates, rain or shine. Choose between 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM. The morning shift will organize sale items, the afternoon shift will start putting them away around 4:00 PM. Contact Cyndi Olson cyndr8@gmail.com

  • Street parking will be tight. If possible, volunteer with a friend and carpool over for your shift.

  • If you have folding tables to lend, please let us know. We may be able to give your table a lift to and from the sale. Contact Cyndi Olson cyndr8@gmail.com

Sales Ground Rules

  • No sales prior to 8:00 AM on May 1. Period.

  • All sales will be made in round dollar amounts.

  • Payment may be made in cash or by check. SDANW cannot accept credit cards, PayPal, or VENMO payments.

  • SDANW will not issue receipts for your donations. SDANW is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit. Contributions to it are not deductible for federal income tax purposes.

  • Most sale items will not be priced but sold based on negotiation between the buyer and SDANW volunteer.

  • If you wish to set a minimum price on an item you donate, price that item before you drop it off.

  • Items left at the close of business on Saturday will be donated to a charitable organization.

Thanks to Gayleen for hosting and to Cyndi Olson for chairing the sale steering committee: Pat Brennan, Candace Grant, and Pauline Tulson.
